Online Visa to sri lanka

All visitors must apply online for a visa - here and will only take a few minutes to complete. The online visa is called an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). Current fee is USD50 per person for a holiday visa.

Read before you apply for an ETA

  • Visa on arrival is not available. The ETA can be applied up to 90 days ahead of travel.

  • Include the address of your first hotel if requested.

  • Once you complete the online application, you will receive and ETA approval within minutes. Please keep a printed copy to show on arrival at the Airport.

  • The ETA can be obtained even before booking your ticket.

  • Keep an American Express, Master or Visa credit card with you to pay the ETA fee on the secure payment gateway.

  • The ETA is valid for 6 months and a fresh ETA cannot be obtained using the same passport until the current ETA expires.

  • If you lose the passport which contains the valid ETA you may apply for a fresh ETA by paying the relevant fee again.

  • If your ETA application was unsuccessful, the processing fee is non-refundable and non-transferable and you will need to submit a fresh application and pay the relevant fee again.

  • Before you confirm the online application - please ensure that you enter your personal details correctly.

    Extending your visa

  • If your stay exceeds 30 days and if departing between 31-35 days, the visa can be extended on departure at the Airport for the payment of an additional fee. For longer stays, the visa must be extended by the 29th day.

    Applying for Children

  • Children under 16 years of age possessing separate passport should submit a separate application.
